😱🎬Horror Triple Feature #3: The Hills Have Eyes
The Hills Have Eyes (1977) is a raw, foundational piece of 1970s American horror from master filmmaker Wes Craven. It is a gritty, tension-filled survival story that sharply contrasts a "civilized" suburban family with a clan of desert-dwelling mutants.
Sorry to Bother You (2018)
BOXCAR is proud to join theaters across the country in celebration of ART HOUSE THEATER DAY! Join us for a special screening of Sorry to Bother You at 7pm, followed by a new pre-recorded Q&A with writer/director Boots Riley.
Riley’s directorial debut SORRY TO BOTHER YOU (2018) is an American science-fiction black comedy. In the film, Cash lands a job at a telemarketing company and struggles to make sales until a veteran coworker teaches him to use a “white voice” on calls. The tactic quickly propels him up the corporate ladder, earning him access to a lucrative world of elite salesmanship. However, as his success grows, he becomes entangled in increasingly troubling corporate practices and faces difficult choices between wealth, ambition, and his principles.
Art House Theater Day (AHTD) is an annual program of AHC that brings audiences together to celebrate all that art house theaters – and independent film – contribute to our cultural landscape: ambitious and innovative art that provokes, challenges, entertains, and inspires. 2025 marks the sixth Art House Theater Day, which launched in 2016 in more than 150 cinemas across the country.

🎬🎵A Hard Day’s Night (1964)
As the Beatles race from rehearsals to press events and television appearances, they must constantly evade enthusiastic fans, deal with strict managers, and cope with the antics of Paul's mischievous grandfather. Filled with humor, music, and playful chaos, the film captures the energy and excitement surrounding the world's most famous band during their early rise to fame.
🎬Pina
Experience one of the most stunning, emotionally resonant visual love letters to modern dance ever put on film. Directed by Wim Wenders, it acts as a tribute to the legendary German choreographer Pina Bausch, who tragically passed away just as filming began. Bausch's Tanztheater (dance-theater) style discarded traditional ballet steps for frantic, repetitive, and deeply human gestures that express grief, desire, and alienation. Pina is an incredibly accessible film even for those who claim to know nothing about contemporary dance, and captures the full spectrum of the human experience.

🎬🎵EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert (2025)
Witness Elvis as a masterful musical director and performer. Directed by Baz Luhrmann, the EPiC: Elvis Presley in Concert eschews talking heads to combine stunningly restored and newly recovered film, audio tapes, and archival footage (some rescued from a Kansas salt mine) into a seamless, exhilarating concert experience that puts you right on stage with The King and his band to experience his electrifying charisma firsthand. Instead of focusing on the personal tragedies and controversies of his later years, the movie solely celebrates his unmatched stage presence, longevity, and infectious, goofy playfulness.
Nirvanna the Band, the Show, the Movie (2026)
A wildly hilarious, livewire comedy that perfectly blends low-fi documentary aesthetics with ambitious, Back to the Future-style time-travel. Fraternal twin sisters Racine and Anaia receive a deathbed letter from their estranged mother, who survived a horrific fire. Her ultimate dying wish is simple and absolute: find their monstrous father and kill him.
🎬Sound of Falling (In die Sonne schauen) (2025)
One of the most critically acclaimed German films in recent memory, The Sound of Falling, weaves a haunting portrait of four generations of women growing up on the same Altmark farmhouse, exploring how grief, trauma, and the quest for identity echo across time. A Jury Prize winner at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, The Sound of Falling was selected as the German entry for Best International Feature Film at the 98th Academy Awards and swept the 76th German Film Awards, winning every one of the 10 categories it was nominated for, including Best Film, Director, and Screenplay.

Das Boot is seen as one of the greatest German films ever made and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for director Wolfgang Petersen.
