🎬🌍Das Boot (1981)

Widely considered the greatest submarine film ever made, Das Boot offers an agonizingly realistic, claustrophobic look at warfare. Das Boot is seen as one of the greatest German films ever made and was nominated for six Academy Awards, including for Best Director and Best Adapted Screenplay for director Wolfgang Petersen.

🎬🌍Pina (2011)

Experience one of the most stunning, emotionally resonant visual love letters to modern dance ever put on film. Directed by Wim Wenders, it acts as a tribute to the legendary German choreographer Pina Bausch, who tragically passed away just as filming began. Bausch's Tanztheater (dance-theater) style discarded traditional ballet steps for frantic, repetitive, and deeply human gestures that express grief, desire, and alienation. Pina is an incredibly accessible film even for those who claim to know nothing about contemporary dance, and captures the full spectrum of the human experience.
